“42nd TIMES SQUARE SHOW REMIXED – 80s REVISITED” (2014)

Pays homage to the 1980 Times Square Show, tributes old school Hiphop legends, while addressing social injustice of the past dealing with the death of Michael Stewart (1983) to present. This groundbreaking exhibition of contemporary art stimulates the cultural revolution of fine art and Hiphop by celebrating icons such as, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jamel Shabazz, Andy Warhol, Slick Rick, Keith Haring, Eric B & Rakim, Video Music Box and Ralph McDaniels, Grace Jones, and Fab 5 Freddy. Visualized and curated by LaRonz Murray for ArtistsFusionTV & Movement, the exhibition features photography, graffiti, poetry, paintings, and mix media creations that explore the historical significance of the original Time Square Show crystallized in time.

“Miracle from 34th Street (Art & Grind of LaRonz Murray)” 2013

This exhibition examines LaRonz Murray’s uprising from his studio of the streets that shows the artist steady progression from being an influential/poet/writer, model, performer/actor and painter/mix media artist. The grand entrance into this seamless multimedia exhibition primarily explores LaRonz usage of text to the marriage of poetry-and-imagery, ranging from unconventional mediums to contemporary canvases to his uniquely evocative hybrid of drawings, paintings and colorful stylized mix media creations. Noteworthy, the live performance features incredible guitarist, Fredrix…LIVENDIRECT! Further delving into this exposition is the groundbreaking modeling collaboration with legendary photographer, Jamel Shabazz. Thus, it has been LaRonz’s progressive ascension from every corner of The Square in his evolution into a full-fledge artist/visionary that carefully defines him as a “Miracle from 34th Street”.

As an Original Jamel Shabazz Supermodel this iconic image entitled, “Drama and Flava” (featuring Supermodel, Noemie Lenoir) originally appeared in the international magazine “Jalouse”. Then LaRonz Murray’s career-defining image was selected to be in Dr. Deborah Willis’ groundbreaking historical book, “POSING BEAUTY: African American Images from the 1890’s to the Present”(WW Norton, 2009). Only to be followed up by being featured in Dr. Willis’ critical acclaimed national/international touring exhibition since 2009 to 2020. Noteworthy, as seen above “Drama and Flava” numerous accolades includes press in Essence magazine.
